Materials:
- 1 charm pack
- 1 yard cream fabric
- 1 1/2 yard fabric for backing
- 1/3 yard fabric for binding
- 38” (inch) X 50” (inch) piece of batting
Tools:
- Sewing machine
- Thread
- Scissors
- Pencil
- Iron/ironing board or mat
- Cutting board/rotary cutter/straight edge ruler
Cutting Instructions:
From the charm pack:
- Cut 90) 2 1/2 inch squares
From the cream fabric:
- Cut 72) 2 1/2 inch squares
- Cut 17) 6 1/2 inch squares
Piecing Instructions:
MAKE NINE-PATCH BLOCKS:
Use 1/4 inch seam allowance with right sides together.
- To make a nine-patch block, use the 2 1/2 inch blocks. Select 4 cream squares and 5 squares in a variety of colors.
- Arrange the squares in a 3 x 3 grid. The colored fabric is in each corner of the block and in the center. The cream squares go in the remaining spots.
- Sew each row together.
- Press all seams away from the cream fabric.
- Sew each row together, nesting the seams as you go.
- Make a total of 18 nine-patch blocks.

LAYOUT AND ASSEMBLY OF QUILT:
Layout the quilt.
- Begin the first row with a nine-patch and alternate between the nine-patch blocks and the cream 6 1/2 inch squares.
- There should be 7 rows with 5 blocks in each row.

- Sew together each row.
- Press all seams toward the cream squares.

- Sew the rows together, nesting seams as you go.

FINISHING THE QUILT:
- Trim your backing and batting to be 2-3 inches wider on each side of your quilt.
- Sandwich the quilt by placing the backing piece right side down, the batting piece, and then the quilt top with the right side up. Pin in place to secure.
- Quilt as desired.
- Trim batting and backing to match the top.
BINDING THE QUILT:
- Cut 2 1/2 inch strips of fabric. You will need 4 strips that are the width of the fabric.
- Sew strips together end to end. Fold and press the fabric in half lengthwise with the right side out to create the binding.
- Bind the quilt to your preferred method.
