Preeti grew up in India, studied Architecture. She came to the US as a student in 2003 and studied Planning and have been working as a Transportation Planner since 2005. She met (on eHarmony) and married her American husband in 2007. He features prominently in her quilting discussions and photoshoots. Her mom is an accomplished sewist. She made her family's clothes when they were young. Preeti remembers wearing dresses with laces and buttons and appliqué motifs. Preeti started quilting in 2013 as a hobby. Once she became an Island batik ambassador in 2021, things got serious with deadlines, patterns and publications.
