I’m an atypical quilter as I am originally from India but I’m obsessed with the lovely American tradition of quilt-making! I grew up in Canada from babyhood onward and loved to do crafts and sew by hand as a child. The game-changer was learning to use a sewing machine when I was 12, falling in love with creating with fabric.
I made my first quilt at age 19 from a pattern in a craft magazine and I was hooked! After moving to Phoenix, AZ when I got married, I’ve enjoyed exploring various piecing methods, applique styles, embroidery and more, both by hand and by machine, specializing in free-motion quilting!
By day, I’m a 6th grade science teacher at a busy middle school in Phoenix. My sewing time in the evening each day is simultaneously energizing and creative while also allowing me to relax and experience the joy of working with fabric!
