If you loved last month’s 16 patch hot pads, then welcome back for Round 2 of Connie Kauffman’s fun fall patchwork patterns! These colorful fall placemats are beginner-friendly quilt projects that use up your fabric scraps in bold autumnal shades. Make multiple sets of these scrappy placements for every season in different holiday color palettes.
Finished Size: 18” x 12”
Many projects now use 2 1/2” strips and most projects end up with leftover strips. What to do with them? Making projects with 2 1/2” squares and strips is a great way to use up strips and also to cut squares from scraps in your stash.
These placemats are quick and easy and a great way to use up leftover strips and squares. Gather your leftovers and see what colors and prints you have. This project uses a variety of fall colors, but the same project could be made with other color combinations (red, white and blue for July, red and greens for Christmas, or even totally scrappy to use for everyday).
